Compromise is key to success.  Your way can not be the only way in any aspect of life.  Your beliefs come from your value system.  But you must understand that you are not always right, even when you believe to your heart you are right.  Compromise will not kill you.  It will not weaken you.  It will not make you less of a person with values, it will not make you less of who you are.  Compromise is the saving grace of society because no one person, group or party is always right.  And you are saved by the grace of compromise every time you could be wrong.
