From someone who gave his all to the game, his heart to a town and his life to a University - Joe Paterno
“Success without honor is an unseasoned dish; it will satisfy your hunger, but it won't taste good.”
To live 85 years is to have 85 years worth of opportunity to succeed and to fail. To have lived a life full of family, full of triumphs, full of giving, full of dedication to the excellence of young men, is to have lived a great life. To be more than a coach when you are just a coach. To mean more to a family of students than just someone to be seen on the sidelines at games, to have made an impact on so many lives is to have to lived a fantastic life. To have failed in a moment of crisis is to have lived a life absent of perfection. Being blessed to live 85 years and experience the highs and the lows is to have lived a full and meaningful life.
What a blessing it is that the sum total of an individuals life isn't based on the last 3 months they live. For far too many people would be considered worthless if they died today.
RIP Coach Paterno - You will be missed!
