There are few things more disturbing to look at than Republican Arizona Governor Jan Brewer. One of those things more disturbing than her look is her description of an encounter with the President. She met up with him as Air Force One touched down in her home state. What an honor to have the leader of the free world on your turf and his presence should be respected. Yet this woman points her finger in the Presidents face and later described her meeting with the president as follows:
"I felt a little bit threatened, if you will, and the attitude that he had because I was there to welcome him"
She felt threatened? Really? Some may say I am being sensitive. Some argue that everyone is hyper sensitive to the fact that the President is a Black man. In some cases that may very well be the case. But what happened here with Governor Brewer is an example in which the Office of the President is being disrespected BECAUSE the occupant is a Black man. Yes, I said it. It’s not about agreeing or disagreeing with his policies or his plans. It isn’t about Governor Brewer agreeing or disagreeing with the President regarding her description of him in her book. He confronted her depiction of him in her book as having “lectured” her and not treated her with courtesy when she met with him in the oval office. Yes he defended himself from the depiction of being a disrespectful man. Yet she felt threatened by his confrontation. He is the damn President. To say you feel threatened is to say you were worried he would do something to cause you harm. A description of a similar interaction Hillary Clinton had with then candidate Obama is outlined in the book “Game Change”. She too described feeling threatened because he got close to her and spoke firmly. I can’t help but to think that the latent idea of a Black man being threatening is still extremely prevalent in the minds of Americans. Furthermore, a Black man who is as confident and self-assured as Barack Obama must be utterly frightening.
Governor Brewer is not the first person to disrespect Barack Obama in ways you have never witnessed a President be disrespected by people who are, by the sheer position in government they hold, should show him basic respect. Post Racial America still hasn’t gotten past the fact that this Black man and his Black wife and their Black kids are living in the White House. And no I am not being sensitive, I am being real. Trust me when I tell you, when Barack Obama is being disrespectful Governor Brewer, you will know it. When he is being threatening, you will know it. You will know it because the backlash will be great, the outrage would be outstanding, and the fallout would be tremendous. Even as the President of the United States, he would never be allowed as a Black man to disrespect the White Female Governor of Arizona. Even if she is a ridiculous, cosmetically challenged, ignorant, dramatic, hateful winch who constantly embellishes stories regarding Black and Brown people in order to scare policymakers into agreeing to policies (specifically immigration polices) of fear and race baiting. Yes, even THEN he wouldn’t be allowed to point his finger in her face and disrespect her. Post Racial America – yea I don’t think so.

I couldn't have said it any better my friend!

When I saw this woman interviewed I just about lost it. This woman and many others clearly have NOT come to terms with the fact that the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA HAS A BLACK PRESIDENT.
Jan Brewer, and many others like her are unable to believe that the world is not filled with just white people. I am quite sure that she felt threatened by an ivy-league educated black man who happens to be PRESIDENT and leader of the free world because he is an object of intellect and beauty the likes of which THE WORLD has never seen. But what galls me is that she felt like it was okay for her to do this and a photographer felt equally okay with capturing this photo and releasing it to the press. Disrespect such as this would never have been shown to a white president.
Jan Brewer is classless and not worthy to even sit on the chair of the office she holds as governor. She is equally unworthy of being a member of the human race.
