Turning the other cheek is a noble gesture, it shows restraint and self control. But when you turn the other cheek and find that cheek slapped too, you must decide how much more you are willing to endure before you defend yourself. Defense of self is not about violence, its about getting to a point where you are less concerned with nobility and more concerned with protecting yourself from that which seeks to harm you; be it words, actions or a person serving a harmful dose of both.
