Self preservation is essential to the well being of any human being. However, operating only from the prospective of self interest with no regard for the needs of others is destructive, detrimental and deadly to any relationship with another human. Because you don't live in this world alone, you cannot move as if you are the only person impacted by your behavior. Selfishness is among the most disdained traits recognized in others and even worse when recognized in yourself.
