Thought of the Day - July 12, 2011

From someone who recognized the power in distance - Samuel Johnson

“Friendship, like love, is destroyed by long absence, though it may be increased by short intermissions”

It is not by the presence of someone in your life that you learn their value. It is usually through their absence, however long it is, that you begin to recognize the meaning and purpose they had in your life. Often, that absence creates a longing; a sense that something is missing. Other times, it takes a while before you even notice the person is gone and even longer for you to decide how you feel about. Not every person who was once a part of your life is missed once they are gone because not every person was meant to stay. And that is quite fine.

Have a peaceful day!
