Thought of the Day - September 23, 2010

From someone who had a realistic sense of self. - Ralph W. Sockman

“True humility is intelligent self respect which keeps us from thinking too highly or too meanly of ourselves. It makes us modest by reminding us how far we have come short of what we can be.”

There is nothing wrong with thinking highly of yourself. The error comes when that thought translates into an air of superiority. When you begin to believe so much in your inflated sense of self that you find yourself floating high above everyone else, know that the air will begin to slowing leak from your ego. Eventually you will be forced to humble yourself. And that usually comes the moment your face painfully hits the floor.

Have a humble day!
