Ok so as all of my 9 followers (eh hem eh hem are you following the blog?) know, I am turning 30 this year. Yes, 30 years old. This is a big deal for me for so many reasons and not the typical reasons you may think. But I will save that list for another blog. This is really about the adventures of planning a 30th Birthday bash in NYC during the holiday season and a recession!
So... I have been mentally planning my 30th Birthday party since I turned 21 in Las Vegas! In my head, the next big birthday bash would have to be 30 and I planned to bring in it with more lights and glamour than even the Las Vegas strip could offer. While the visions have changed over the years, the general theme of the party has remained the same, a party that celebrates the joy of life with all the glitz and glamour that my mind (and my wallet) can imagine!
There were a few issues to start, my birthday is during the holiday season which makes it very difficult to secure a venue on the weekend. I solved that problem by planning to throw my party on a Thursday (which is my actual birthday anyway!). We are all adults and partying on a Thursday is no big deal. Next up on the issue list, how many people did I want to celebrate the joy of life with? Issue solved, everyone! LOL (Not everyone everyone, but everyone in my life) Next up, pick a venue - got that (gonna make that official soon), pick a theme (did that) and tell everyone (doing that soon too). Issues were plenty but not terrible and I solved them pretty quickly. At least the major issues. There are the minor ones like, what will I wear, how will I find shoes for this size 11 foot and what will I do with this hair (short or long). But overall, I am so very excited for this party!!! Ive been planning it since I turned 21, now its time to put it into action and I am so looking forward to the moment we get together and celebrate the joy of life with all the glitz and glamour!
I remember my 20th birthday so clearly, like it happened yesterday. I will explain as we get closer to the party just why that birthday is so important to my 30th Birthday and how I celebrate it. Stay tuned...

I love planning parties. Have recently arranged my friend’s graduation party at Venues in NYC. Had worked a lot in making event memorable. The heart of the party was our pat memories pictures together put up on a wall. It was just lovely and she loved it a lot. Had a lot fun in doing that.
