Thought of the Day - December 9, 2008

From a man who saw true courage in those around him - Alex Karras

"It takes more courage to reveal insecurities than to hide them, more strength to relate to people than to dominate them, more 'manhood' to abide by thought-out principles rather than blind reflex. Toughness is in the soul and spirit, not in muscles and an immature mind."

Seeing the person with the puffed out chest or hearing the loudest voice is never a good way to identify the strongest person in the room. Being loud is usually a mask for insecurities. Often the quietest person is bearing the greatest load. But it is that kind of quiet strength and hidden bravery that makes them able and equipped to handle all that life throws at them. It is also what makes them the people you want to pay the greatest attention.

Have a courageous day!
