Thought of the Day - October 6, 2008

From a NY times Best Selling author who took on the topic of Motherless Daughters - Hope Edelman

"Losing a loved one is like breaking a bone, if the bone isn't set properly it will eventually heal on its own, but it will cause pain throughout the rest of your life. To ease the pain you have break the bone again and reset it properly."

The extreme pain felt from the death of a loved one can never be measured. We all know it is the responsibility of time to take shooting pain and heartbreak and transform it into a dull pain, something that you feel all the time but have learned to live with. The greatest lesson I have learned in the eight years since my mother's death is that my heart is broken and there is a void that will never be filled. The moment I realized that, I stopped chasing after some unattainable state of being "better" and finally took the steps towards really being ok.

Have a day of loving those around you that matter the most!
