As much as your ego may enjoy looking at your reflection in his/her eyes, there is more to loving a person than just loving how you see yourself in their eyes. You must understand that only in the fiction of fairy tales will a person who loves you only reflect the positive things about yourself in their eyes. In authentic real life love, they see you (and love you) flaws an all. Being an honorable recipient of love requires that you receive the love of your attributes as well as you not so nice parts. Being an honorable giver of love means you love that person for who they are, flaws and all, and not for some idealized way they allow you to see yourself.
