Being afraid of pain, hurt and deceit is a natural response to having experienced those emotions before. But understand not one person has ever died because someone hurt their feelings. People will lie to you, sell you false dreams and paint false pictures. And sometimes you will believe their lies not because you are stupid but because you wanted to believe - there is no shame in that. And when the truth comes out, you will be hurt, deep down in your soul. But always remember, just because you were the recipient of their hurt doesn't make you the cause of it. And you should never punish yourself with the fear of love because someone else didn't love his/herself enough to live in their truth.
