When you are clear what you value and have established the lines you will and will not cross, making a decision becomes less about whether or not you want to do what is being proposed and more about how much of your values you are willing to be flexible on in order to do it. If you haven't already done so, identify your value system. This way you are fully aware when being asked to compromise it.
