Thought of the Day - December 28, 2011

From a reliable source - Japanese Proverb

“The bamboo that bends is stronger than the oak that resists and topples with strong winds.”

Sometimes we are struck with the urge to stand our ground.  The feeling that the end result of compromise is losing hit all of us at one point or another.  But when your general feeling is that you must stand firm in everything, never compromising to anything, then you are always losing.  There is no way you are always correct.  There is no way that your way is always the only way.  Sometimes you must bend a little.  Other times people will bend your way.  To exist in this world, you must give and receive compromise.  While it may not feel so great when you are the one doing it, it feels marvelous when you are the recipient of it.  Keep that in mind as you decide to plant your feet firmly in the ground.

Have a flexible day!
