It is sweet to be complimented. It is nice to have a person say a nice thing to you. It is manipulation when a person seeks to boost your ego through empty flattery. It is easy to fall for the constant ego inflation. It is painful as hell when you realize a person was just pumping you up simply for the thrill of seeing just how high they could get you before bursting your bubble. It is best to pump yourself up, at least you can trust the source!
