Condom Broke - Myth or Truth?

I want to warn you that this topic has adult content and if you are easily offended by adult content, please stop reading now. Ok since you are still reading, I will just go into it. As adults who are sexually active, I felt a strong need to reach out to all of you to find out your thoughts on an urban myth that I hear a lot. It seems that there is a lot of talk about condoms breaking during intercourse. Now I am not going to say that this never happens, I am sure it does. However, it seems to me that often adults use the “condom broke” line to hide the fact that a condom was never used. Now am I am just being a cynic who clearly doesn’t have the experiences of others (I have only witnessed this event maybe twice in my entire life) or do condoms really break in these high numbers that people speak of? Furthermore, are people really practicing safe sex the way they make it seem? I find that when I probe people about their safe sex practices I am finding more often than not, people are having unprotected sex much more than they are having protected sex. What is really going on out there people? FEEDBACK PLEASE!!!

So is the question more about safe sex practices/condom usage, or the condom breakage story that is the reason for the resulting pregnancy? Cause that's the only time I hear the condom broke story.
