Thought of the Day - Rest in Peace

RIP - Ali Malik Shabazz - March 8, 1948 - June 28, 2008

From a gospel singer whose songs inspire and change lives - Yolanda Adams

"I don't have time to pretend that I am not missing you. I know your in good hands, the same hands that hold my heart. And I will cherish every moment we spent as a gift from God above, for he takes care of all fragile hearts."

My heart is fragile and broken. The loss of a parent is profound and life altering - the loss of both parents is just plain unfair. I know from my past experience that this will eventually get better. And that is the slice of peace I have during this time of immense grief.

Thank you so much to everyone who extended their thoughts and prayers to me and my family. We are extremely grateful. I know the world can not stop because I am sad, and I thank every one of you for continuing to keep the laughter and happiness of LIFE around me!

Finally, I want to thank my father. He died to soon in my opinion, but I know it isn't up to me. But I want to thank him for always loving my sister and I. For every flaw my father had, he was never flawed in being present in his children's lives despite a divorce and extending his love in great abundance. He beamed with pride when he spoke about all his girls (my cousins as well). We gave each other so many great gifts and for that I am so forever grateful.

Have a day appreciating the ones you love!

~Maliek~
